A preview of all the special liveries at the 2026 F1 Japanese GP

The 2026 F1 Japanese GP will be the first race on the 2026 calendar to feature one-off liveries from the F1 grid. Three teams will show off unique and bold livery designs at the Suzuka Circuit this week.

Racing Bulls

Racing Bulls were the first team on the grid to showcase their special livery design for the 2026 F1 Japanese GP. At the Red Bull Tokyo Drift event just last week, the team debuted their unique livery and teamwear for the upcoming racing weekend.

Racing Bulls drivers Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad took the stage at the event and showed off the new team kit inspired by the Red Bull Spring Edition can. The design also celebrates the famous Sakura blossoms across Japan.

Both the livery and team kit were designed in collaboration with celebrated Japanese calligrapher Bisen Aoyagi. The unique livery design has the team’s signature colours replaced with a striking white, red and silver palette. The team kit worn by Lawson and Lindblad features Red Bull’s famous catchphrase “Give You Wiiings” written in expressive shodo brush calligraphy.

Aoyagi shared her inspiration for the design, including why she chose to incorporate calligraphy into the design, as she compared the strokes of calligraphy to racing.

“Calligraphy captures motion in a single stroke, much like racing captures speed in a pivotal moment,”

“I was inspired by cherry blossoms and the culture of Japan to create a design that feels powerful, elegant and alive on the car”

Haas

Haas will run a Godzilla-themed livery this weekend at the 2026 F1 Japanese GP. The team unveiled the design earlier in the week in Tokyo Midtown Hibiya. The design marks the start of a season-long collaboration with TOHO CO., LTD., the iconic Japanese entertainment studio and home of the ‘King of the Monsters’.

By incorporating Haas’ signature white, black and red colour palette, the livery will feature a Godzilla design across the engine covers.

Team Principal of Haas, Ayao Komatsu, spoke on racing on home turf and shared his thoughts ahead of the weekend, as well as the Godzilla-themed livery the team will be running during the weekend. The 2026 F1 Japanese GP will be a home race for both Komatsu and the team, with its Japanese roots from title partner Toyota Gazoo Racing.

“The Japanese Grand Prix is another one of our home races, this season returning with our title partner TOYOTA GAZOO Racing, so it’s a really big race for us. We’re motivated to carry on the momentum we got from the first two races, and I think the team is working really, really well. Suzuka will pose a very different challenge from Shanghai, but at least so far on two different circuits, we’ve managed to adapt our approach well to get the best out of our car and drivers. Our target in Suzuka is to again focus on the fundamentals and then try to get both cars into point double points, that’s what we’re aiming for.

“I’m also really excited to see all the Japanese fans as we unveil our special Godzilla-themed livery in Tokyo. This collaboration is a first and is truly exciting, it really shows a part of who we are as a team and our identity, so I hope fans enjoy this fun livery.”

Mercedes

Mercedes was the final team on the grid to present a special livery design for the upcoming 2026 F1 Japanese GP weekend. The team took to social media earlier this week to share renders of the W17 with a bold wolf design.

Paired with the tagline “unleashing the beast”, Mercedes drivers George Russell and Kimi Antonelli will have a wolf pattern adorned on their livery for the upcoming racing weekend. They will be looking to claim yet another win at the Suzuka Circuit.
