Cadillac has unveiled its debut challenger for the 2026 Formula 1 season. The American outfit is the latest team to reveal its livery for the upcoming season.
Cadillac’s debut challenger
The car launch marks yet another milestone for Cadillac ahead of its maiden campaign in the series. After running a special livery at the 2026 Barcelona Shakedown, the team has released their official colours for the season during an advert played during the Super Bowl halftime.
The American outfit took a more unique approach to their chassis design. The livery features a dual-colour white and black design, with each side of the car a different colour. The bold design gradient takes inspiration from a Cadillac chevron, an homage to Cadillac’s symbol and General Motors’ co-ownership.

The goal for 2026
Alongside the technical regulations overhaul, another significant change for the 2026 Formula 1 season is the expansion of the grid with the introduction of Cadillac. This marks the entry of a completely new team to Formula 1 for the first time in a decade. TWG Motorsports and General Motors will back the American outfit as it enters its maiden Formula 1 campaign in 2026.
The team has been hard at work preparing for their debut at the season opener in Melbourne next month. The American outfit acknowledges the challenges of the season ahead. The team will be going against teams with years of experience, and their aim for the 2026 Formula 1 season will be to evolve into a competitive team that belongs at the front of the grid.
An experienced driver lineup
Cadillac might be the new team on the grid in 2026; however, its drivers are no strangers to the sport. The American outfit announced its highly anticipated driver line-up in August of 2025, welcoming Sergio Pérez and Valtteri Bottas to the team, marking the return of two popular drivers to the grid.
The 2026 Formula 1 season will mark Bottas’ 13th season in the series. The Finnish driver has years of experience and has made a total of 67 podium appearances with 10 race wins under his belt. Following his departure from Sauber at the end of the 2024 season, Bottas remained active in Formula 1 as he found himself back at Mercedes as a reserve driver. The Finnish driver played a crucial role in Mercedes throughout the team’s successful run from 2017-2021, contributing to five consecutive World Constructors’ Championships. During his run with the team, Bottas clinched two P3 and two P2 finishes in the Drivers’ Standings.

On the other side of the garage is Pérez, who will be making his comeback to the sport after parting ways with Red Bull following the 2024 season. The Mexican driver will be entering his 15th season in 2026 following a sabbatical year in 2025. He also has years of experience under his belt, having clinched a total of 39 podiums and 6 grand prix wins during his run in Formula 1 thus far. Most notably, Pérez was a part of Red Bull’s dominant 2023 season and concluded the season with a career-best finish in the Drivers’ Standings in P2.
Both drivers have extensive years of experience driving for a myriad of teams in Formula 1 and a significant number of race victories. They will be able to bring their experiences and learnings to push Cadillac in the right direction.
