São Paulo once again hosts the championship’s opening round, reinforcing its importance to the series and to Brazilian fans, who have filled the grandstands in recent years and helped turn the São Paulo E-Prix into one of the most vibrant events on the calendar.

São Paulo, Brazil
After pre-season testing in Valencia, Formula E teams arrive at the Anhembi Sambadrome to officially open Season 12 (2025/2026) this Saturday, 6 December.
This season, Brazilian supporters will have two home drivers to cheer. Felipe Drugovich will make his Formula E race debut on home soil, marking a significant milestone in his career, while Lucas di Grassi — one of the category’s most experienced figures and the champion of the inaugural season — returns to the grid representing Lola Yamaha.
The 2025 edition also brings a major novelty. Google Cloud, an official Formula E partner, becomes the race’s title sponsor, with the event officially named the Google Cloud São Paulo E-Prix. Tickets are available via the Fever platform. The race returns to the traditional 2.933-kilometre circuit, known for its high speeds, long straights and intense overtaking — features that have cemented the São Paulo layout as one of the most exciting on the calendar.
The circuit’s 11 corners combine fast sections with challenging chicanes and have produced some of the closest battles in Formula E history. Last season, the venue opened the championship with a remarkable victory for Mitch Evans, who charged from last on the grid to first in a race shaped by red flags and strategic energy management.

As in previous seasons, São Paulo welcomes the event with a well-organised transport operation designed to make access to the Sambadrome easier for fans. The recommended option is the metro: Portuguesa–Tietê station on Line 1 (Blue) is the closest to the venue.
From there, spectators can use a dedicated shuttle bus service operated by the Municipal Department of Urban Mobility and Transport (SMT) and SPTrans. The fare is R$5 per journey, payable via Bilhete Único or cash. Boarding takes place on the east side of the station, with a journey time of approximately 10 minutes to the GL car park, located near the Sambadrome.
The entire area will be clearly signposted, with CET staff, maps and support teams ensuring a smooth flow on arrival and departure. The transport operation runs from 05:00 to 19:00 and will feature 14 electric buses dedicated exclusively to the event.
Portuguesa–Tietê station also offers quick connections from other metro lines: Line 2 (Green) via Paraíso or Ana Rosa; Line 3 (Red) via Sé; Line 4 (Yellow) via Luz; Line 5 (Lilac) via Santa Cruz; and Line 15 (Silver) via Vila Prudente, connecting onwards to Line 1. For those arriving by CPTM commuter trains, Luz station is recommended, with onward travel on Line 1 towards Tucuruvi.
Formula E continues to reinforce its sustainability commitments at the Google Cloud São Paulo E-Prix. The event will be powered by renewable energy, operate an optimised waste management system and feature social initiatives supported by the Better Futures programme, bringing fans closer to discussions around environmental responsibility and clean mobility.
With renewed rivalries, Brazilian drivers in the spotlight, world champions on the grid and easy access for spectators, São Paulo is ready to launch another season defined by speed, strategy and innovation.
São Paulo’s return as the season opener further highlights the city’s growing role in Formula E’s global expansion, combining passionate local support, strong commercial partnerships and a challenging urban circuit that consistently delivers unpredictable races and strategic energy management battles.
