F1 milestones to watch in the final seven rounds of 2026

Lewis Hamilton needs to lead three laps at Marina Bay this weekend to take the Singapore record for laps led from Sebastian Vettel. It is one of several F1 milestones within reach as the 2026 season enters its last seven rounds.

Singapore (9th to 11th October) opens a run that also takes in Austin, Mexico City, São Paulo, Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi. Drivers and teams alike have records in range, and most need only one good result to fall.

F1 milestones at Marina Bay: Hamilton, Verstappen and Norris

Hamilton has led 249 laps in Singapore. Vettel’s record stands at 252. A win would also tie Vettel on five victories at the circuit, and a pole would make Hamilton its outright pole record holder.

He could also become the first driver to win there for three different teams, adding Ferrari to McLaren and Mercedes. Hamilton remains the all-time wins leader with 106.

Max Verstappen makes his 250th Grand Prix start on Sunday. He has never won or taken pole at Marina Bay. His next pole will be his 50th, which could make him only the fifth driver in history to reach that number.

Lando Norris has two F1 milestones in sight. He arrives on 49 podiums, and a 50th would take him past Hamilton’s McLaren total of 49 and level him with Jenson Button. A pole would be his 20th, matching Valtteri Bottas.

Piastri and Leclerc chase win number 10

Oscar Piastri and Charles Leclerc are each one victory from double figures. For Piastri, a tenth win would move him past his manager, Mark Webber, who won nine. For Leclerc, it would level him with Kimi Räikkonen’s Ferrari total of 10. One more podium would also tie Leclerc with Rubens Barrichello and Vettel on 55 for the second most in Ferrari history.

Verstappen has a landmark of his own on the win count. He and Michael Schumacher both stand on 72 wins with a single constructor. Verstappen’s next victory would take sole second place behind Hamilton’s 84 at Mercedes.

Antonelli’s F1 milestones go beyond the title

Kimi Antonelli leads Mercedes teammate George Russell by 84 points with seven rounds left. He has already collected records along the way, including the youngest pole in F1 history in China and the youngest grand slam at Monaco.

His eight wins this season set up the next set of marks. Hamilton holds the Mercedes record of 11 wins in a year, so Antonelli needs three to equal it and four to break it. His 13 podiums sit four short of Hamilton’s Mercedes record of 17.

His six poles already match Alberto Ascari’s 1953 total, the Italian record for a season. The next one breaks it.

The title brings the biggest number of all. Vettel became the youngest world champion at 23 years and 134 days in 2010. Antonelli is 20 and would be the first champion born in the 2000s. The earliest he can clinch is Mexico City on 1 November, and only if he outscores Russell by 17 points across Singapore, Austin and Mexico. Russell won at Marina Bay last year and with a power unit grid penalty, the fight has become easier for Antonelli.

Teams and career landmarks

Team F1 milestones are in play too. Mercedes lead Ferrari by well over 100 points in the constructors’ standings. They have won five times in Singapore, more than any other team, and a sixth would extend that record.

Cadillac are still waiting for a first point. Their best finish so far is 13th, Bottas in China, so a top-10 result would be a first for the newest team on the grid.

Pierre Gasly is on course to become Alpine’s all-time leader in race starts at Las Vegas. He is also a single point short of 500 career points, which would make him only the second Frenchman to get there after Alain Prost.

The career counters tick over as well. Carlos Sainz makes his 250th start in Las Vegas, Sergio Peréz his 300th in Mexico City and Hamilton his 400th in São Paulo, where Esteban Ocon reaches 200. Nico Hülkenberg’s 270th start in Las Vegas would pass Felipe Massa. Gasly gets to 200 in Abu Dhabi on 6 December.

Seven races are left, and most of these F1 milestones need only one clean result to fall. Marina Bay is the first chance.
